ENGAGE: Where Connection, Collaboration & Cooperation Came to Life
The Cooperative Council of the Carolinas (CCC) held its 2026 Cooperative Conference and Annual Meeting earlier this week in Charlotte, NC. This event was filled with new experiences, collaboration, connection, and of course, ENGAGEment. From the moment we gathered, it was clear this would be a meaningful and impactful experience.
This event was held at the beautiful Foundations for the Carolinas in Uptown Charlotte. As soon as you walked in the room, creativity and purpose filled the space. The Foundation for the Carolinas provided the perfect setting for meaningful conversations, big ideas, and genuine ENGAGEment.
We were honored to host an outstanding lineup of guest speakers who brought knowledge, insight, and inspiration to the event:
-
Charlene Foley guided us through, “Journey Mapping Through the Member’s Lens,” offering a valuable perspective on understanding and enhancing member experiences.
- Paul Carney shared practical strategies in, “5 Ways to Get Things Done with AI,” equipping attendees with tools to work smarter and more efficiently.
- Wendy Hickey inspired us during the Community Impact Session, highlighting her work with ArtPop and the power of creative community engagement.
-
Carson Butts of the Carolinas Credit Union League delivered, “Advocacy in Action,” emphasizing the importance of staying engaged and informed.
- Ann Fitts shared insights on community development through her work with North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives.
Each session added depth to the experience and left attendees with actionable ideas and renewed motivation.
We also heard from incredible Lightning Round speakers, Ivan Canada and Taylor Elben, as they took the stage and shared ideas and sparked collaboration,in a fast-paced, 20-minute session.
One of the most exciting highlights of the annual meeting was the chance for attendees to connect with our incoming Executive Director, Aisha Everett, and what a moment it was! From the very start, Aisha brought an unmistakable energy to the room: bold ideas, genuine enthusiasm, and a deep commitment to the mission that powers everything we do. Her vision for strengthening connections across our network resonated throughout the event, leaving everyone inspired and ready for what's next. The Carolinas Council is in great hands, and we couldn't be more excited to grow alongside her leadership. The best is truly ahead!
As we reflect on this year’s Annual Meeting, one thing is clear, the power of ENGAGEment was felt in every moment. From inspiring speakers and meaningful conversations to new connections and shared ideas, this event truly showcased the strength of our cooperative community.
We are grateful to everyone who attended, participated, and contributed in making this experience so impactful. The momentum and energy from this gathering will continue to carry us forward as we build, grow, and collaborate in the year ahead.
