Ideas in a Flash: What to Expect from the Lightning Round

The 2026 Annual Meeting is right around the corner, and one of the most anticipated parts of the program is our Lightning Round Speaker Session, a fast-paced series of presentations designed to spark ideas, share insights, and strengthen our cooperative network.

This year’s lineup brings together voices from across the cooperative and nonprofit platforms. We have three participants ready to share their ideas and expertise: representatives from North Carolina State Employees' Credit Union, NC Center for Nonprofits, and Carrick Professionals. Each will bring a unique perspective on leadership, innovation, and strengthening mission-driven organizations.  Here’s a preview of the organizations that will be represented and the conversations they’ll bring to the stage. 

Representatives from North Carolina State Employees' Credit Union will explore the often-unspoken shift from individual contributor to effective leader — and what it really takes to grow others, not just perform well personally. 

From the NC Center for Nonprofits, attendees will hear how nonprofit organizations are navigating today’s changing landscape through innovation, collaboration, and strategic partnerships. 

And Carrick Professionals will share a real-world success story highlighting how thoughtful HR strategy and operational alignment can strengthen governance, restore autonomy, and position organizations for long-term growth.
